We’ll discuss your concerns and find the best solution to help you overcome your fear, so you can feel at ease in the dentist’s chair.
Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas)
Our most popular sedation option, nitrous oxide, helps you relax while remaining fully conscious during your visit. Administered through a nose mask, it quickly melts away anxiety, making your dental visit more comfortable. The best part? Once the mask is removed, the effects wear off almost immediately, allowing you to drive yourself home and return to your normal activities without any lingering drowsiness.
Oral Sedation
For moderate anxiety, oral sedation is a great middle-ground option. Taken as a pill about an hour before your appointment, this medication helps you feel calm and relaxed during your procedure. Although you’ll stay awake, many patients feel so comfortable they even doze off. Since this sedation causes drowsiness, we recommend having someone drive you to and from the office for your safety.
IV Sedation
If you have significant dental anxiety or need extensive work, IV sedation may be the best choice. Administered directly into a vein, it takes effect almost immediately, allowing you to remain completely relaxed without any memory of the procedure. You’ll stay conscious and able to respond but won’t recall the treatment. This is ideal for completing multiple procedures in one visit, allowing you to address years of dental needs without fear and stress.
You don’t have to let fear hold you back anymore. We are here to support you every step of the way, ensuring a compassionate and comfortable experience. Call us today and let us help you regain your confidence with a smile you’ll love!
General Anesthesia
If you have tremendous fear of dental visits, rest assured that you’re in good hands. General anesthesia offers the deepest level of sedation, allowing you to be fully “asleep” throughout your procedure. You won’t feel a thing or have any memory of the experience. If this option interests you, let your dentist know. We can arrange for a local anesthesiologist to oversee your sedation, ensuring your safety and complete comfort from start to finish. No worries—your peace of mind is our priority.

Nitrous Oxide
This minimal sedation is the most popular option for patients at . Commonly known as “laughing gas,” nitrous oxide is an inhalable gas that is mixed with oxygen and administered through a nose mask. The amount given can easily be adjusted by your doctor or hygienist for optimal comfort. You’ll feel yourself letting go of the stress of the dental visit while our team of experts perform your scheduled services. This sedation option is also attractive to many patients because there are no after effects once the mask is removed. Patients are able to drive themselves home from the appointment, unlike the other sedation options.
Oral Sedation
The middle-of-the-road option for sedation is oral sedation, or sedation by taking a pill. Depending on your medical history, height and weight, your doctor will prescribe a medication that is right for you. The prescription is taken usually one hour before your appointment so it starts working by the time the doctor is ready to see you. Similar to nitrous oxide, you will be awake throughout the procedure, but the medication will cause drowsiness. Some patients are so relaxed that they even fall asleep in the chair! For your safety, we always recommend that you have someone drive you to our office and home from the procedure.
IV Sedation
The most fearful patients usually opt for IV sedation for their dental appointments. This option is administered directly into a vein, so the medications work almost immediately once administered. Although you will have little or no memory of the procedure, you will be conscious and breathing on your own for the entire visit. That means, if we ask you to open wide, you will be able to respond by opening your mouth, but will not have any memory of this at all. Since you will not be aware of what is happening, we usually recommend doing as much dentistry as possible in each visit. In one or a few visits, you will be able to complete many years of needed dentistry. Fear and dental anxiety does not have to hold you back anymore!
